In the article demographic breakdown of new entrants, we found that demographics varied across the sources of new entrant groups. In this section, we test how these characteristics correlate with tenure.

In terms of age retention, this was highest among new entants aged 35-40. Interestingly, we found that new entrants aged 60-64 had higher retention than those aged 20-24.

Overall, males had higher retention. This is not consistent across all groups of new entrants. There appears to be no gender difference in career changers, but there is a strong difference in immigrants, secondary school leavers and tertiary graduates.

Overall, Asian new entrants had the highest tenure profile, however this is not consistent across industry or new entrant group.
