Tracking employee counts of new businesses

Most businesses start as sole traders, however there are a number that start with more than 9+ employees in their first year. Over time we observe businesses going out of businesses, businesses with employees surviving longer than sole traders.

We define businesses as being in business if they have more than $20,000 in wages and salaries, or business income in a year.

From businesses first in operation in a particular year we track how many employees they have each following year.

Employees are distinct persons employed at least three months in a year.
